Previous course and distance winner GHOST DANCER has a solid chance of expanding on his recent haul in a race that might just be set up for him if the in-form Equipe De Nuit runs his usual race from the front. A strong pace suits the selection and, having found a new lease of life this summer, he should not be underestimated. Others worth a mention include: Nativity who, having dropped to a very handy mark; is not without a chance of making the frame on these terms. John Spearing's filly is a late maturing type that only now seems to be getting the hang of things; albeit at a lowly level. Green Velvet has a better record on the all-weather track at Lingfield, so is one to keep on the right side in the coming months. However, she does handle turf so cannot be discounted in a weak race such as this. The veteran Golden Dixie won off a rating of 91 two years ago and would have brushed this lot aside without breaking sweat in his heyday. Sadly, though, he appears to be on a downward spiral at present and, as sentiment doesn't pay the bills, he may be best left alone until he shows more of his old sparkle. Equipe De Nuit made all to land a seller at Leicester eight days ago and is holding his form well. William Carson retains the ride but a 6lb penalty makes life tough this afternoon. Therefore, it can be worth chancing that preserving with Ghost Dancer can reap reward today. Milton Bradley knows how to keep these old stagers sweet and, as he is at his best weaving his way through on the back on a strong tempo, Ghost Dancer appears to have an ideal opportunity to strike here.
