No easy lead for the doubtful stayer Just Lille here and it is the Ian Williams pair who may have the upper hand; narrow preference is for the familiar face BADDAM for whom a first-time visor looks a good move. This is a big drop in class for the horse that was beaten into fourth in the Lonsdale Cup at York last week. He gets to race off a mark of 85 back in handicap company and with quick ground and a sharp track likely to hold his interest a bit longer, he should run well. Stablemate Zuwaar is consistent but ultimately frustrating to follow; his last win feels longer ago than April but he certainly has the ability and his jockey's claim will help. Pseudonym is a fast-ground stayer who probably found Chester against him last time; he has won here before despite favouring a more testing track and he is considered, albeit with the feeling that he is handicapped to the hilt. Alnwick is a bit of a Kempton specialist but he has won here before; again his mark looks on the high side. Ermine Sea (in first-time cheek-pieces) drops in grade but may need some more help from the handicapper, Nemo Spirit went off too quick at York last time but had previously won for this jockey, whilst Just Lille is as game as they come but she has never raced over this far before. A tricky heat then for punters, but another chance is given to Baddam.
