CAPPAGH may be able to leave his previous efforts behind and get the better of last time out winners Nous Voila, Golden Square and Tom O'Tara. The selection is partnered by McCoy for the first time which may have a detrimental effect on his price as may the exploits of Qaspal who has performed wonders for the same connections since being sent handicapping. Cappagh was beaten over 60 lengths on each of his second and third starts over hurdles and over 20 lengths on his handicap bow but this is considerably less competitive so may help see him in a better light. Nous Voila will have to race from a 4lb higher mark in future but he was rated in the 130s in his prime so his penalty shouldn't overly inconvenience him but Golden Square could struggle on this ground. Conditions will be of no concern to Tom O'Tara who sprung a surprise over course and distance from an 8lb lower mark and he's entitled to respect on that evidence. Federstar has claims on his Uttoxeter second whilst the market may provide the best guide to the claims of Quotable and Babilu as it may to those of the selection Cappagh.
