Cigalas was very weak in the market for his seasonal debut over the course but the promise he showed in maidens last season if re-produced would see him go very close. Surprise Package looked far from straight-forward on debut when finishing second over course and distance at Salisbury but if one is willing to put that down to inexperience and with nominal improvement from first to second runs, he would be the biggest danger to Cigalas. The ex-Ballydoyle trained Historical Giant has got the boot from Ireland and is now gelded for his UK debut while Mr Burton made his belated flat debut last time, staying on in the closing stages to complete the placings in a very weak maiden. Timocracy, a half-brother to Ger Lyons' smart in-mate An Tadh has been disappointing. The Barry Hills yard can win this for the third time in eight years with Cigalas.
