Forzeen has put in two decent efforts to date and is taken to show improved form to beat The Crooked Ring, the newcomer High Dyke and Dove Cottage. The selection showed his liking for a firm surface when finishing three lengths behind Empire's Ghodha at Bath last Saturday. His victor ran a solid effort at Royal Ascot on Thursday and Jamie Osbourne's colt can step up on that Bath effort. The Crooked Ring has run some fine efforts in defeat this season with decent runs at Bath, Chester and Nottingham. However all his best runs have come on an easy surface and whether he can reproduced those efforts remain to be seen. First-time blinkers are a negative but the jockey booking is a major positive. High Dyke looks more of a staying type on pedigree but his trainer is a shrewd placer of horses and a market move for this son of Mujadil would be significant. However, Forzeen looks the best option in an interesting race with Dove Cottage possibly looking the best each-way value following a fair effort at Leicester on his debut and with his trainer having a very good course record.
