In depth

Verdict

Alan King has his team in good form and so Anshabil must have a leading chance of improving on his debut run, with Terminology, Sunley Future, Ismahaan and newcomer Youlbesolucky all worth considering. Anshabil took a keen hold on his Ascot bow last month, but Timmy Murphy managed to restrain him at the back until making really good headway in the closing stages, eventually finishing third. He has obvious claims and gets the vote over quite a few other promising individuals, including Terminology. His trainer Kim Bailey always seems to do better with chasers than hurdlers as he adopts a patient policy, but that does not stop him sending out the odd bumper winner or two, and Terminology should go well based on his introduction at Uttoxeter where he finished fourth without being knocked about. Nicky Henderson has a tremendous strike rate in this sphere and Sunley Future is out to get the losses back after his defeat at Kempton in February. There was a bit of a rumpus over his participation at the Sunbury track as he bolted on the way to the start and completed a circuit before eventually being caught and taking part. Providing that he has calmed down now, Sunley Future should go well. Jonjo O'Neill always prepares them well before they are allowed to run so Youlbesolucky will not lack for anything on that score, and Jim Culloty is an eye catching booking for Ismahaan. This has the makings of a good finale and one in which Anshabil can come out on top.
