Tamadot heads a short-list on which Commander Kev and Tank Top feature prominently. Given the forecast ground, it must be a concern that the selection pulled up on his hurdling bow at Newbury on soft but his subsequent outing hinted at considerable ability. That run came in a well contested novices' hurdle back at the Berkshire venue where he went into any number of notebooks having stayed on strongly from off the pace to finish fourth. Three miles and chasing will be where his future lies but he should be good enough to win a race of this nature. Commander Kev has been highly tried, running well in races won by the likes of Snap Tie, Razor Royale and Wichita Lineman. Heavy ground is an unknown but his trainer does well at this track and his chance is respected. Tank Top showed improved form to chase home a gambled on winner at Chepstow last time, finishing some way clear of the remainder. That form entitles him to be involved in the finish. Of the remainder, Cornelia has place claims and Oxley could go well at a price but Tamadot appeals as a likelier winner.
