In depth

Verdict

Celtic Son, Strong Flow, Carlys Quest and Petite Margot look the ones to concentrate on in another tough race to call and the vote goes to the fast improving Celtic Son. The selection has been transformed since being stepped up in trip and applied with a tongue-strap and although he is rising in the weights he won with plenty in hand when defeating Moscow Whisper last time out and he is taken to win again under conditions that suit. Strong Flow was out the top draw when last seen and all eyes will be on him but his trainer has already reported that he will come on for the race and for that reason he is passed over on this occasion. Carlys's Quest was a never nearer second behind Victory Gunner last time and will appreciate the step up in trip but this looks much more competitive and he will need to improve to score. Petite Margot won well last time out when defeating Darjeeling but looks weighted up to his best and he may be venerable to a less exposed sort. Of the remainder Supreme Piper has been in fair form over hurdles of late but returns to hurdles on a high enough mark while Native Ivy is from a shrewd yard and should be noted in the market but for the winner we return to Celtic Son.
