In the maiden that starts the card, we like the look of Drumroll, with Avanti Avanti, Trymore and Perfect Story rated as his biggest dangers. With his stable in such good form, it is hard to get away from the David Loder runners here, of which Drumroll, with Eddie Ahern booked, looks the stronger entry. This son of Diktat cost 95,000 guineas and is sure to be ready for his debut and, with his dam having won on the all-weather, looks a likely type. His stablemate Jostle was well beaten on his Newmarket debut, his sole run to date. Garibaldi is another with likeable breeding, although runners from his stable generally benefit from their first outing. Avanti Avanti made a very encouraging debut when second to the impressive Loder-trained colt Big Band Music over course and distance and, tenderly ridden there, looks sure to improve. Trymore was just under four lengths behind him on that occasion but was staying on at the finish and it might be closer between them now. Cold Play is nicely related but might prove better over further but Perfect Story ran well when fourth here over seven furlongs on her debut and is another with a chance. Overall, though, we will side with Drumroll.
