The amateur event that closes the card can go to Somerset West, with his biggest dangers reckoned to be Sir Sandrovitch and Lady Pekan. The selection goes well for his rider and they teamed to score from an 11-pound higher mark at Leicester in June. From today's mark, and with course form to their name, he should be competitive today. Sir Sandrovitch comes here on the back of a Southwell selling win and, reasonably weighted on that basis, is another to consider. Lady Pekan was possibly unlucky to be demoted from first spot over course and distance three days ago and, although not having a great deal in hand over Cargo based on that form, could go well in a bid for compensation. The Baroness, who looks held on that form, has yet to build on her course and distance win since running from a revised mark, while Chorus, who has been mainly campaigned over further of late, could go well if the drop in trip does not prove too much of a hindrance. Finally, Forest Knight showed some improvement last time and the drop to five furlongs might help, but Crewes Miss Isle seems to have lost her way of late. This brings us back to the selection, which is Somerset West.
