A poor race to begin the card and one where the market will probably be as good-a-guide as anything, but without that knowledge we will suggest GOLDEN SQUARE, with Blindedbythelight respected. The Tony Carroll-trained pick has winning course and distance form and acts on good ground. A recent run after a break will have sharpened him up and a drop of 2lbs leaves him now just 4lbs higher than that win here in November, so we'll chance him. Blindedbythelight has decent claims on the best of his form, but all of that better form he has shown has been on softer ground and as it has now dried out conditions have gone against him. Turbo Shandy goes on the ground and is now just 2lbs higher than his last success, which came over fences, so he would have claims. Nono Le Sage is interesting now handicapping from a lowly mark of just 75, and if there is any support for him then that would be very interesting. Trip and ground are ideal for Arctic Bliss, who returns from a lengthy absence and with the yard going well she might be capable of a bold showing, but we will just side with Golden Square.
