RED ONION is given the vote here ahead of the in-form Ban Uisce and Amir Pasha. Richard Fahey's gelding ran a fair race at Huntingdon last month, finishing fourth to Zen Factor. He shaped then as if a return to this trip should be within his range (needs to settle better however), and with this better ground likely to help him get home he should run well. Tide Slider looks a tad high in the weights but is not dismissed after a three month break, Accumulate has been off the track since winning at Ascot in June 2007, whilst Amir Pasha is more interesting with the visor back on and a return to a less testing track. Ban Uisce seems to have relished soft ground recently, but if he is as effective on this better ground then he could defy this new mark despite being 15lb higher than when first winning. Muntami is a course and distance winner and looks fairly handicapped, whilst Boing Boing should strip fitter for a recent Catterick spin. An open race, but preference is for Red Onion.
