In depth

Verdict

The finale should lie between Scarlet Mix, Bill Brown and Leopold and the vote is given to Scarlet Mix. The selection was disappointing at Newbury last time but this is an easier race and if he could reproduce his course and distance success when beating Top Achiever then he will hard to beat. Bill Brown ran well at a big price when third behind Buffalo Bill over this course and distance last time. That was a significant improvement on his previous form and if he can improve again he will go close. Leopold looks a little exposed but he might be capable of running into a place, a comment that would also apply to Three Welshmen who has had plenty of chances. This is not a race to get too excited about and for the winner we return to Scarlet Mix.
