In depth

Verdict

Little previous form for us to go on in this early season maiden, and we will go with Ribbons Of Gold to make a successful racecourse debut, with the more experienced Polly Alexander the main danger. The selection is down to breeding, with her dam, In Love Again a four times winner at two, and with plenty of stamina on the side of her father then she should be able to hold her own in these fairly testing conditions for juveniles. Polly Alexander has had just one outing so far, when fifth of seven at Kempton last month. She ran green that day and lost her way a little at the business end of the race, but the experience will have put her straight and she did not seem to mind the soft ground, which is a plus here. Of the remainder Artadi is sprint bred and could go well on debut, while Aunty Euro made a satisfactory start to her career at Lingfield on the Polytrack but will find this an altogether different proposition. For the selection then, we return to Ribbons Of Gold to make a winning debut.
