Verdict

For Pleasure was headstrong over hurdles but did win a Grade 2 at Cheltenham last season and was third in the Supreme Novices’ later. Dan Skelton has won the last two renewals, including with the smart Allmankind 12 months ago, so must hold KING ROLAND in some regard. The seven-year-old hasn’t had much racing but has had wind surgery since last seen and was certainly no slouch over timber. A similar comment applies to Edwardstone, who will be a threat to all if taking to fences, but Nickolson would have something to find on his hurdles form. Do Your Job was ahead of For Pleasure in a Grade 1 at Aintree in April and can’t be left out of calculations in a fascinating novices’ chase.
