Old Macgeorge has been a credit to Richard Lee and can add to his tally here, with Masalarian, I Am Said I and Heidi III the main dangers. The latter will only run if there is sufficient rain, but has a squeak on his best form over regulation fences, and if turning out, should make his presence felt. However, Macgeorge, at the age of 14, has seen it all before and has shown this year that he still has what it takes to win in hunter chase company at least. Successful at Warwick and Exeter in March, he was beaten by the ground as much as anything when third to Torduff Express at Cheltenham last month. There is nothing of that calibre here and the faster conditions will suit as well, so with Marc Barber in the plate, Macgeorge looks the one to be on. Ex-Irish Masalarian had shown plenty of ability in point-to-points prior to scoring at Folkestone recently and can be considered a main threat along with I Am Said I, a useful pointer for David Pipe. Macgeorge should have enough class to see them all off though and gets a confident vote.
