In depth

Verdict

A poor race in which POWER SHARED is chanced at the principal expense of Colline De Fleurs and Scaramouche. Pat Murphy's gelding refused to race last time out but the trainer mounted a very determined defence of his horse in the media earlier in the week and if that indiscretion is overlooked, on ground that suits, he has to be considered to have very solid claims. Colline De Fleurs has won on heavy over hurdles. Third on reappearance from a sizeable absence; the mare could potentially be well treated off this handicap mark. Scaramouche has a fairly similar profile. He ran respectably enough at the course in November without pulling up any trees. It's A Discovery has been dropped significantly down the weights having shown little in her recent runs. The handicapper had previously got very excited by her victory in a Mares race at Towcester in 2007. Tokpela is better known in the Irish Hunting fields. Alfloramoor looks sure to ensure a strong pace even if this isn't quite what the rider desired. Midnight Ocean has scored under Gerald Tumelty's handling previously though needs to leave behind a below par effort.Power Shared is the pick.
