MAGNIFICO has been threatening to win for a while now and can take this contest, being preferred to Malakiya and Brousse En Feux. Karen Waldron's gelding has won five times over hurdles, but not since February, but a return to his previous form could be enough to take this, especially as he's got plenty in hand at the weights with Malakiya. He may be found out with too much to carry as was the case here last week, when fourth behind Brousse En Feux, but first time headgear may help. Quedillac has been third on all three runs to date for Tim Vaughan since coming here from Ireland. Brousse En Feux isn't consistent enough, and is prone to the odd error, even when winning last time out. Winning form this season among the runners is in short supply, but Magnifico can get back on track and live up to his name.
