Spectrometer should be too good for this line-up and is chosen to beat Undeniable and Gone Far. This top class hurdler has taken well to fences, slaughtering a modest field at Kelso. He didn't run up to his form next time at Sedgefield. He made a couple of mistakes, but was never racing with his usual zest and that event perhaps came too soon after his run at Kelso. He has had a months holiday since so we may see a better performance this time. Undeniable jumped well on his chasing debut at Worcester but had to settle for second behind the back to form Bunkum. The rest were well beaten off so it could be decent enough form. Gone Far was well behind First Ballot at Newton Abbot last time but is better judged on his previous third behind Liberty Seeker. However Spectrometer is the class horse in the field and can give weight and a beating to his rivals.
