In depth

Verdict

Richard Wollacott has hit the ground running and it'll be fascinating to see how he gets on with former point-to-pointer, Bear Witness. The ten-year-old was a fair third to Court In Session in a race at Necarne and that horse has gone on to rate in the high 120's since switching to regulation fences. Paul Nicholls had a couple entered for this race and POLISKY was the one that remained at declaration time. Third in a Grade 2 hurdle at Cheltenham to Fingal Bay; he could literally be anything over the larger obstacles. Russian War was a very smart hurdler on his day but Gordon Elliot's nine-year-old has been unable to show the same level of ability over fences. Though capable - he is now one to treat with caution. Storm Survivor won staying hurdles at Folkestone and Plumpton last season and he makes a chasing debut without the visor he sported in that last success.
