In depth

Verdict

A tricky start to proceedings with most of these open to improvement. One such animal is Englishtown who is taken to beat Lubinas and Deo Gratias. From the powerful Jonjo O'Neill yard, the selection was made an odds on favourite for his debut at Huntingdon, and after moving sweetly early on made a mess of the third last and dropped out tamely. He obviously has ability and was rated in the 90's on the flat in Ireland, so we can expect a much improved performance today. Lubinas returned to hurdling in great style, easily getting the better of Lord Dundaniel in a competitive affair at Uttoxeter. There could be plenty more to come and he rates a big danger. Deo Gratias is steadily getting the hang of the jumping game, putting up a promising effort at Huntingdon last time, and can go close here at decent odds. Celestial Heights is another to consider here, but having been well backed last time Englishtown can pay back his supporters this afternoon.
