Verdict

Time To Get Up, last year’s winner, is 4lb higher but actually better off at the weights with both third Final Nudge and fourth Screaming Colours. Achille, Truckers Lodge and Captain Drake were all unplaced but the latter pair did finish 1-2 in this in 2020 and both are back in form. Bryony Frost has ridden Yala Enki in all of his races since joining Paul Nicholls and the partnership has won four times but WHOLESTONE is a fascinating runner. Though an 11-year-old, he’s only run three times over fences and won twice. He won a Grade 2 over hurdles at Haydock four weeks ago when returning from a lengthy lay-off and the third won the Pertemps Final at Cheltenham on Thursday - a mark of 148 is potentially lenient. Hear No Evil’s recent second at Naas came in a veterans’ chase while there are ground concerns surrounding fellow Irish raider Hewick and Jersey Bean but the novice De Young Warrior is worth a market check as he’s already proving to be a much better chaser than hurdler and promises to stay extreme distances.
