Verdict

Master Overseer won this last year, just edging out Major Malarkey. He's won a further twice this season but needs to get his own way out in front and is a massive 21lb higher than 12 months ago. Monbeg Dude won the Welsh National in January and was then third in the Grand National Trial at Haydock but he was due to run in yesterday's Cheltenham Gold Cup and will also struggle to confirm Cheltenham running in November with BRADLEY. The latter was never travelling and pulled up at Warwick last time. But the handicapper has given Fergal O'Brien's ex-pointer a real chance at the weights today against the likes of Master Overseer and this is his time of year. Chac Du Cadran won the North Yorkshire Grand National last time and looks a thorough stayer while Big Occasion could go well despite racing from out of the handicap. Fill The Power may prove best of the rest as a big weight will surely anchor Carruthers over this trip and Cool Operator may not be able to cope with the rise in class.
