This is not the strongest of races but it is competitive and what can only be a tentative vote goes to CHARMAHAL, who has been running better of late and can race off the same mark as when a close second at Towcester last week, and he gets the vote ahead of Bendarshaan and Dillay Brook. The last mentioned ran better at Newton Abbot last time but Tom George's mare remains a maiden after 15 starts and she may prefer a softer surface so she may be best watched. Syncopated Rhythm struggled in both starts since winning here two years ago and it will be interesting to see how he performs after such a long absence. Strolling Vagabond has given little sign of encouragement of late, while Ballinruane may now be a shade high in the weights following his win here in July. Royal Hilarity may struggle to give weight away all round and a better bet may be the Venetia Williams-trained Bendarshaan, who is better than he showed at Plumpton when last seen in April. He is not certain to stay this far though and marginal preference is for Charmahal.
