      Verdict

      Howard's Legacy finally came good at Hereford having looked a tricky ride earlier. But Venetia Williams' charge may struggle to give 6lb to DUKE OF MONMOUTH, who has already gone close at Fontwell and Ffos Las and had no problem stepping up to this distance last time. On all known form, it's difficult to make a case for any of the others.
