The penultimate race on the card is a very competitive but we feel the two to concentrate on are BASODA and Petroupetrov. Both horses won their last starts but one had to be taken with the manner the selection won. He was given a super ride by today's jockey and now that he has his head in front he may go in again. The key to this horse seems to be good ground with a fast pace. His jumping needs touching up but he has certainly improved in that department lately. The stable remain in very good form so a big run is expected again. Petroupetrov finally broke his maiden tag when winning an average handicap at Kempton. That was the first time in an age he ran on decent ground and it clearly had a positive effect. Like the selection now that his confidence is back he may go in again but Basoda just gets the nod ahead of him. Others to note are Our Jim and the blinkered Ballygalley Bob but its Basoda for us.
