Scapolo can make the trip from Germany pay off by accounting for Whispered Secret, with Siena Star, Darab and Debbie others that may make their presence felt. Although yet to jump a twig in public, Scapolo was successful four times on the Flat in his native land, and from past experience, trainer Christian Von Der Recke is sure to have the six-year-old spot on to run a big race. With Mick Fitzgerald booked, they are leaving nothing to chance, and although some rain would enhance his chance, Scapolo is selected to go in first time. Whispered Secret failed to defy a penalty when second to Tulipa at Perth but Tom George has his summer team in great shape so that was no disgrace. However, Whispered Secret was not as good as the selection when trained in Germany, and may have to play second fiddle. In addition, Tulipa's trainer now saddles Darab and is sure to have a line to that one's chance against Pipe's charge. Siena Star shaped well when second at Kelso on his debut over timber and so should go well along with Debbie, who pulled too hard early on when last seen here. An interesting contest can go to Scapolo.
