Prince Among Men is selected for the ladies race ahead of recent winners Montessori Mio and Governor Daniel. Formerly trained by Martin Pipe and Nicky Richards, Prince Among Men has been a perennial underachiever but Martin Todhunter may manage to find the key to the talented yet frustrating sort. Montessori Mio won a couple of back-end novice events for Mary Reveley. He is now based with Richard Ford. Often sporting cheekpieces, he will need a strong pace to land today's prize. Ian Williams' Governor Daniel is a truly likeable performer. He battled resolutely on Tuesday to see off a much higher rated performer to record a victory in a Newton Abbot claimer. He is though strictly held on the book by our selection. Mister Chisum was in rude health a couple of months ago but looks to have gone slightly off the boil. The jockey booking of Annabelle Armitage looks a positive. Robyn Alexander was set to go chasing but has been nominated for this event. Paul Nicholls stable have had a couple of high profile losses of late and it would be interesting to see the direction of the market. Zurs has the obvious positive of Polly Gundry in the saddle.
