Bose Ikard was having his first start since December and wouldn't have been suited by fast ground on his chasing bow at Down Royal earlier this month so with progress likely he's one for the shortlist. After a bright start at Ballinrobe, Dale Street disappointed over fences and had a prep run back over hurdles at Limerick last month. Tico has been inconsistent over fences but has shown the occasional signs of ability and would be a threat if at his best while Bouncing Betty was very unlucky not to have won at Ballinrobe last month then probably found 3m taxing her stamina at Kilbeggan. Claire Pet's lone success over timber came on very heavy going so the more rain the better for her while winning point-to-pointer Samantha Jones scored on her hurdling debut and is expected to do even better over the bigger obstacles. EXPRESS DU BERLAIS is bred for chasing so the fact that he's managed to score between the flags and over hurdles is a bonus and he's taken to make a winning start over fences.
