SEA SCORPION showed his first sign of ability when a close third at Kilbeggan in April and was well supported to make a successful reappearance at Limerick earlier this month. He was still in touch when unseating his rider at the second last and with Sean Flanagan taking over the reigns can gain compensation. Sweet Shirleen makes her handicap debut and has to be a major threat. Mags Mullins' mare had no chance of holding off Rathnure Rebel at Clonmel and the winner has since won a Grade 3 very easily so an opening mark of 109 shouldn't prove insurmountable. The Mooch hasn't run over hurdles since May 2014 but is 10lb lower than his chasing mark so could give a good account but Supreme Steel was beaten when unseating his rider at Thurles. Kalanisi King has won a bumper here but never been placed over hurdles.
