Ben Rumson, who went up 6lb for a narrow victory in a similar low-class handicap at Roscommon, started favourite at Galway but didn't reproduce that effort. Gun Shoot has been running well enough to consider but a poor strike-rate is off-putting so a chance is taken with MISCHIEF MAISY. Gordon Elliott's UK recruit scored at Lingfield last month and got no sort of run on her debut for the yard in a better handicap than this at Galway. Mrs Conn has shown signs of progress in her two latest starts and remains on a very lowly mark while Danse Rouge ran easily her best race to date at Leopardstown last week though that was over a much shorter trip.
