In depth

Verdict

The veteran Preswell Lad won this a year ago and is the only course and distance winner in the line-up. But he's 5lb higher this time and hasn't been in the same kind of form. Winning point-to-pointer Murphys Filly was still in touch when falling at Gowran and should be starting to get the hang of jumping regulation fences soon but SACRE MALTA finished runner-up in that race and it's about time he was scoring over fences. He should be suited by the better ground and, though none too reliable with his jumping, a clear round can see him go one better. Loch Dara finished fourth in that latter event and looks held and Halls Bridge has run moderately since scoring over the trip at Wexford in November.
