A poor contest can go to Majestic Moonbeam ahead of Walton Way, At The Double and Adalie to name but three. Majestic Moonbeam looked set for a bright future when making a winning debut at Warwick in Mach 2003 but has struggled to get his head in front since. He has been tried over fences, finishing second a couple of times, and had blinkers fitted at Huntingdon last month, but nothing has worked, so Jonjo O'Neill now lowers his sights considerably in a bid to work the oracle. With Tony McCoy on duty at Chepstow, Mick Fitzgerald steps into the breech and so the eight-year-old will at least get plenty of assistance in the saddle. Walton Way finally showed a glimmer of hope in similar company at Stratford last time when third at 50-1, but will need to improve again, while At The Double has to give weight away all round. Adalie is the elder statesman at the age of 12, and cannot be mentioned with confidence, and in a dreadful affair, surely Majestic Moonbeam will take the beating.
