Etendard Indien ran creditably when sixth behind the well handicapped Poquelin at Newton Abbot last week but this looks tougher and a safer bet looks to be Another Jewel, who gets the vote with Cusp rated the pick of the remainder. The selection was going well when falling three out when last seen over course and distance in October. Jonjo O'Neill's gelding prefers fast ground and, with the yard's runners in good form, he looks worth a bet to gain compensation for that latest effort. Arctic Spirit, a winner here 13 months ago, has run some reasonable races of late without winning and may again have to settle for minor honours. David Wintle's Baron Blitzkrieg ran better here last month and has claims but has harshly been raised 3lbs since that outing and he looks best watched. A market move for Cusp would be of interest but it is hard to get away from Another Jewel, who gets the vote.
