NEWTON GERONIMO won three times over hurdles in the early part of last year but had refused to race on his two previous starts. He's had a couple of runs over fences without distinguishing himself but this is a poor contest and he should be good enough. Boston Blue is a plating-class hurdler but did appear to run better when a close third over fences at Kempton a year ago though has a very long absence to overcome. Belmont Park has only had five races in bumpers and over hurdles and shown nothing, nor has Gray Wolf River, who has an official rating of 63, while winning point-to-pointer Bennys Girl produced her best run over fences over three miles so is likely to find this too short.
