Mark Sowersby holds the key to this race, providing two of the six runners and he can take it with Donny Bowling, with stablemate Hollywest and Jim Lad others to consider. With some very ordinary form about, stakes should be kept to a minimum, but Donny Bowling has put in some decent efforts with cut in the ground and despite not winning yet, she has run better than most of these in defeat and is nicely weighted, so is taken to score. Hollywest appears in blinkers for the first time, which may help to galvanise a greater effort. The trainer will clearly have the best idea as to the gelding's chances with his stablemate, but from what we have seen he still has a bit to find, and with a stone more to carry he is opposed. Of the others, Jim Lad ran creditably for Andrew Thornton when chasing home Noble Calling in a Huntingdon seller last time and a further 3lb drop will help his cause here, but again that form looks pretty moderate in the greater scheme of things and so we will side with Donny Bowling to finally get off the mark.
