The River Joker gets the vote here ahead of Dalus Park, Canon McCarthy and Reflective Way. The selection won over course and distance last time from a mark of 90. Raised four pounds for that effort, he comes here in good heart and should go well. Dalus Park is closely weighted with Dalcassian Buck based on their last runs but the former, who was returning from an absence, could improve further with that December 19 run under his belt. See You Around has never won but has been placed six times in 14 starts so could grab some money again, and Canon McCarthy is lightly raced, should be improving and has been placed eight times in 14 starts. However, he has a bit to find with the selection based on their course and distance runs last time although he is now effectively 17 pounds better off. Reflective Way has chances based on his Hexham second in November and it is interesting that Tony Dobbin has been booked. Vague Idea is back to a inning mark but has never run well on testing going. Blazing Batman won from a mark of 64 at Exeter in October and has place claims off 69 today. Barton Fog's form of two years ago gives him chances but he has been plagued by injury problems. An interesting event, then, and one in which we opt for The River Joker.
