Verdict

GORDON LORD BYRON has only run here once and scored over 5f in 2012. He's been mixing it at the highest level for a very long time and was in cracking form at this time a year ago completing a Group Three double at the Curragh. He can get back to winning ways though the much-travelled Elleval also takes a drop in grade having failed to handle fast going at Leopardstown three weeks ago. Michael Halford runs Wychwood Warrior, who is returning from an unsuccessful spell in Dubai and has only won on Polytrack, and the three-year-old Al Qahwa, who finished last on his reappearance in a Group Three at Naas. General Macarthur is also from the younger brigade and showed his battling qualities to score on quick ground at Navan last month.
