Verdict

Canny Tom was second again at Kilbeggan on Friday and has now had 21 runs over hurdles without winning. Bhutan won easily on his only start on the Flat in April of last year and made his hurdling debut in a Grade One at Leopardstown in February. He should make a fine hurdler though the experience of SUPER BOWL may be just too much for him at this stage. Willie Mullins' charge, runner-up at Roscommon in June, was expected to go one better at Downpatrick but a bad mistake at the first unsettled him and he never looked like winning. Field Robin has now had 13 starts over timber without winning while Born To Size has only performed moderately on ground with plenty of give.
