Verdict

The veteran Fit The Cove has been very busy of late but remains in fine form and it was no disgrace to finish third behind Footprint at Sligo on Wednesday. CALIFORNIA ROSE completed a double in testing conditions and may have been a little unfortunate in her hat-trick bid at Galway. She's never won over this shorter trip but these races are usually run at a fast pace and she can come through late and land the spoils. Vasoni was only half-a-length behind Fit The Cove over the C&D last month and should make a bold bid to lose her maiden tag but a bigger threat may arrive in the shape of Mountain Mama, runner-up twice over today's trip before finding a mile just too far at Killarney. Daisy Mountain is still a maiden after 18 starts but has run well on several occasions and Megan Carberry's claim is a bonus.
