Six-times Grade 1 winner SHARJAH is well clear on official ratings and though reaching the veteran stage for a hurdler he's retained most of his ability judging by his runs earlier this year, especially when runner-up to Constitution Hill at Aintree where he had some very smart rivals behind. His stable also run Icare Allen, who hasn't made the expected progress from landing a Grade 3 in February last year. but Cash Back, another from the yard, fought it out with Fils D'oudairies at Ballinrobe and has the better of the weights here. Sole Pretender won this in 2021 and finished second last year but has mainly been chasing subsequently. Jeff Kidder had a superb four-year-old career winning at Cheltenham and a Punchestown Grade 1 and was looking on the way back after a long break when unseating at Punchestown.
