In depth

Verdict

It's a surprise to see SUNDAY SOVEREIGN running here after his very impressive victory in what looked a strong maiden at the Curragh. He's destined for better things and has an entry in the Group 2 Railway Stakes at the Curragh later in the month. He has to concede 5lb to the filly Lorelei Rock, whose short-head victory over Air Force Jet was given a boost when the latter won at Navan on Saturday so she won't go down without a fight. Piece of Paradise started favourite for her debut at the Curragh but appeared to find the ground too quick though she stayed on when getting the hang of the job. She can reverse form with Value Chain, who finished just in front but had the advantage of a previous run.
