BATTLE OF RIDGEWAY won a Clonmel handicap in May and reappeared with a very impressive victory over fences here three weeks ago. He is 10lb lower back over timber and can complete a hat-trick. Duke Otto and Herculaneum finished 1-2 over the course and distance three weeks ago, the former getting up on the line after finishing strongly. The runner-up will be 2lb better off and slightly less testing conditions would play to his strengths. Duncarrig had shown little until defying a bad mistake to score at Navan and there is likely to be more to come. Alphonse Le Grande came in for strong support when last seen in a Sligo handicap in June but may have found the ground too quick.
