After a couple of victories in French-style bumpers, SHIFA arrived at this track with a big reputation a fortnight ago but fluffed her lines and could only finish third behind Ruler Of All. However, she was conceding 3lb to the winner, who is probably useful, and masses of weight to the runner-up so the form looks good enough for this. Winning point-to-pointer Four Commanders ran two fine races over this trip late last year and his run behind Skorcher over 2m6f here last time should be ignored as he didn't enjoy the longer trip and made a bad mistake at a crucial stage. Half Full hasn't been seen since a promising effort at Ballinrobe in July but Bobowen appears to be improving gradually and ran well enough behind The Pier here last month to suggest he can fight it out for a place at least.
