Verdict

Gordon Elliott has a fine record with horses out of point-to-points and VERY WOOD could be another. He's only a four-year-old but has been purchased by Gigginstown Stud and looked very impressive at Oldtown last month. Top Othe Ra has had enough chances though it's possible the quicker going will see him in a better light and Golden Rascal, who made a decent start at Cork in January, is surely better than he showed at Leopardstown the following month. Usuel Smurfer, a winner between the flags, will probably do better when getting a stiffer test of stamina and Why Ask Me would have to be the main threat if able to repeat her cracking run behind Suntiep at Limerick in November.
