        Verdict

        Slipstream won at Lingfield before going close at Chepstow and today’s apprentice can claim 10lb. Admiral Rooke was placed yet again when runner-up over 7f here and patience has run out with him while New Orleans is another frustrating sort who is usually thereabouts without winning. But PLACEBO EFFECT won three times last year and after finishing only a length behind the winner at Beverley last time, Ollie Pears’ charge looks set to get his head back in front. Rhigolter Rose is a novice winner but has struggled in handicaps so far.
