          Verdict

          Fathom Five continues to defy the years, the handicapper and his rivals, the resurgent ten-year-old having posted a fourth win in the last five starts earlier this week under today's pilot. He's going to be hard to peg back again if making his traditionally sharp stalls exit but LEES ANTHEM rates a solid alternative and better value. He's been going well in the last couple of months and can handle a recent 3lb rise in the ratings after a really good effort behind subsequent scorer, Avonmore Star at Nottingham. A win looks overdue and this can be his day. Captain Scooby has twice suffered at the hands of Fathom Five on his last three starts but continues to deliver a solid account and boasts decent place claims once again.
