In depth

Verdict

A poor contest in which Handheld should make a bold bid despite a big weight as he's been performing in better company. SCRUFFY MCGUFFY stayed on well to beat Back To Bond narrowly in a Redcar claimer last time and can confirm the form with Richard Fahey's charge on similar terms. That looked a slightly better contest than this so Ann Duffield's charge can complete a double. Border Bandit hasn't won for two years but has dropped to a very lowly mark and has been racing in better company while Ted's Brother won a minor handicap at Ayr earlier this month and is only 2lb higher so he's on the shortlist.
