Verdict

The initial juvenile promise of Hydroxide seems to have evaporated to some extent and it was disappointing to see him out of the frame in a Class 4 Wetherby handicap last time. Hugo Palmer probably thought he'd identified a decent opportunity for the gelding here but the presence of two further Newmarket raiders from top yards will have diluted confidence and AKDAAR (NAP), a son of Dubawi out of an Oasis Dream mare, is preferred on the back of a promising debut when getting the hang of things late on in a Doncaster maiden. The market should guide as to the chances of the Haggas newcomer Pretty Passe while Summerghand and Raselasad look best of the northern-based runners.
