led, headed halfway, soon beaten
slowly into stride and always behind
prominent, ridden halfway, kept on same pace final furlong

chased leaders, ridden over 2f out, hung left and one pace final furlong
jumped left at start, was always in rear
held up behind leaders, ridden over 2f out, one pace final furlong
towards rear, never dangerous

hampered at start, was always towards rear
PISTE can land the finale at the main expense of Crimea and Simola. The selection ran well when last seen out when she chased home Silky Way at Goodwood. The blinkers seemed to have a positive impact that day but they are left off here. Nonetheless, she looks to have been found a good opportunity to shed her maiden tag here and she should go close. This is only a weak event though so it would not be a surprise to see either Crimea or Simola get involved at the finish. These newcomers are worth noting in the market, especially as they are from yards in form and are both well drawn. Lucky Dan has ability but he has had plenty of chances, a comment that would also apply to Africa's Star. We will therefore stick with Piste to finally get her head in front.
